A few weeks ago when I stopped by my "Pool Lady's" house she had some other questions for me before she decided to put her house on the market. As I told you last week, her pool, patio, covered deck and landscaped yard is amazing.. Her sister Blanche was sunning at the pool with a cocktail then joined me and my Pool Lady for a tour of the interior of her home. First let's just say that there is a reason why she parks her car in the driveway and NOT in the garage. The garage door almost snapped in two killing us with the amount of stuff, or as her sister called it, "arap" in the garage. Her sister Blanche and I were on the same page, but I had to be polite. The Pool Lady convinced Blanche to help pack everything up and take it to a BIG community yard sale by her daughter's house. Last week I received a call from Blanche, and let's jut say that she was not a happy camper. Blanche wanted the Pool Lady to hold the sale at her house because there would be less competition. Blanche's husband Herb wanted to grab a pack of matches. However, they filled 2 SUV's and the new Mercedes that Blanche owned and headed 15 miles to the sale. Blanche told me that they are not allowed to hold yard sales in Palm Beach. I think that she was bitter that she was in Scranton for the summer.. Pardon me..the weather was sunny and warm for the sale but it turned out that Blanche got a terrible sunburn, the Pool Lady made $32.00 at the sale then lost the profits and never found them. Blanche summed up the moral of this story: the rate of return was not worth their energy sunburn and the 3 tanks of gas they spent carting all of the crap back and forth to the sale. And never, never let her sister The Pool Lady be in charge anymore. Cheers Blanche, next time just keep drinking at the pool..
